Citizenship Test Review

Australia's Minister for Immigration and Citizenship has appointed an independent committee to conduct a review of the Australian citizenship test, focussing on the operation of the test and the issues that surround it.

Submissions or comments are welcomed and should be provided to the review committee by 5 June 2008 at: www.citizenshiptestreview.gov.au

Changes to Australian Citizenship have recently been passed and a new Act came into effect on 1 July 2007.

permanent residents as at 30 June 2007 will not be affected by the new residence requirement if they apply before 30 June 2010.

Citizenship by Descent
