Services for Australians

[ Passports: Submitting Your Application ]

Applications may be lodged in person at the Australian Consulate-General's Passport Office between the hours of 9:00am and 4:00pm Monday to Friday (public holidays excluded). Please bring along the completed Application Form, all supporting documentation required and the appropriate fee. Unfortunately, there is currently no exemption possible to the statutory requirement to attend a personal interview when lodging an application for an Australian Passport overseas.

The cost of an Australian Passport is set in Australian Dollars and varies periodically according to the prevailing exchange rate. The Australian Consulate-General can only accept payment in Hong Kong dollars. Under the new Passports (Application Fees) Act 2005, all application fees are non-refundable. Please refer to the Fees page for the payment methods and the most up-to-date fees in Hong Kong dollars.

For Australians living in Macau

If you are residing in Macau, you have the option to lodge your application during our regular consular visit or you can send your renewal application to us by registered mail. If you want to submit your application by mail, please download and read the Checklist for Mail in Adult Passports Application (pdf, 76kb) to check whether you can do so. If you are eligible for mailing application, you will need to enclose all your necessary documents in your envelope. We strongly recommend you go through the checklist to make sure you have attached all necessary documents before sending. Your application should be sent by registered mail or courier to:
