Services for Australians
[ Passports: Guarantor ]
The Guarantor section on page 9 of the Application form must be completed either by an Australian Passport holder who has known you for at least 12 months and is not related to you by birth or marriage. The Guarantor must be readily contactable by telephone as we will call him or her to verify details on the application form, by asking a series of questions. If you do not know another Australian Passport holder (or of the person you do know is related to you), you can have someone who is currently employed in one of the 24 recognised categories of employment, sign Section 12B of page 7. This person does not need to be an Australian citizen, but they must be employed in one of the recognised categories, must not be related to you by birth or marriage, must have known you for at least 12 months and must be readily contactable by telephone. download Passports Application Information List (pdf, 50k)
