Our Mission
The Australian Chinese Association of Hong Kong Ltd. (ACAHK) is a non-profit making organisation established with the mission of:
Promoting fellowship and friendship among Australian Chinese and those with ties and relations with Australia |
Promoting Australia and the Australian way of life |
Rendering assistance to ethnic Chinese intending to migrate to Australia |
Our Values
Each member of our Association is an individual with personal goals and values of his or her own. However, we share in common certain values. These values, which hold us together, form our culture and make us what we are today and tomorrow. Mutual respect and honesty are our guiding principles in dealing with fellow members and other people.
Our History
The Association was founded in 1992 by a group of Australian Chinese in Hong Kong with the purpose of promoting fellowship and friendship among Australian Chinese in Hong Kong and helping Chinese intending to migrate to Australia. It started with a membership of about 30 people and has maintained a steady membership of roughly 700 members.
We maintain an amicable relationship with the Australian Consulate-General in Hong Kong and we have the honour of inviting the present and past Australian Consuls-General in Hong Kong as our Patron. Each year, the Association organises various functions and works closely with other Support Australia groups and organisations to promote Australian cultures and activities. In response to the increasing responsibilities and the requirements for better members’ services as the Association grew, the Association was incorporated as a limited company in Hong Kong in 1995.
